Free push/fold trainer for short-stack preflop

When your stack is under 15 big blinds, most preflop decisions come down to all-in or fold. This push/fold trainer deals those spots against ChipEV ranges. You can browse every range in the push/fold charts.

What is a push/fold trainer?

A push/fold trainer puts you in a short stack, gives you a position and a spot, and asks you to choose an action. There are two situation types here: RFI (everyone folded to you: open, all-in, complete/call, or fold) and Facing All In (an opponent is already all-in: call or fold). Hands and seats change every deal so you practice making decisions quickly — the same pace you need at a tournament table with a short stack.

How the push/fold trainer works

Each hand places you at an 8-max table with ante 0.12bb and a random stack of 12, 10, 8, or 6bb. Choose Fold, Call, Open, or All-in, and you immediately see the ChipEV frequencies for that hand. Filter by stack or scenario when you want to focus on a specific spot, or leave the filters open for more variety. Your position is random every hand.

Stacks and scenarios covered

Stacks: 12bb, 10bb, 8bb, 6bb. Scenarios: RFI and Facing All In — the main short-stack preflop spots. Positions run from EP1 to BB at an 8-max table. The ranges match the push/fold charts; frequencies are rounded to 25% steps so they’re easier to learn.

Push/fold trainer and the cash 100bb trainer

For opens, facing raises, and 3-bets at 100bb, use the separate cash preflop trainer. This page is for short-stack push/fold. Stats for the two trainers are tracked separately in your account.

How to practice more effectively

Start with one stack (for example 10bb RFI) until your accuracy is steady, then add Facing All In. Check accuracy by position — mistakes are often concentrated in the blinds and late positions. When a hand mixes open and all-in, both answers can be correct; learn the main frequency first. Short regular sessions usually work better than one long session before a tournament. After a miss, open View range or check the charts.

Trainer features

Filters for stack (12/10/8/6bb) and scenario (RFI or Facing All In). Keyboard shortcuts: F / C / R / A and Enter. Fullscreen mode. Session stats with accuracy by position. Progress is saved in the browser; after you sign in, push/fold stats sync separately from the cash trainer.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from a regular preflop trainer?

This is a push/fold trainer for short stacks (6–12bb): RFI and Facing All In. For opens, facing raises, and 3-bets at 100bb, use the cash preflop trainer.

Which stack sizes and scenarios are included?

Stacks: 12bb, 10bb, 8bb, and 6bb. Scenarios: RFI (Raise First In) and Facing All In. Position is random each hand; filters cover stack depth and scenario type only. Coverage matches the push/fold charts.

Is this ICM or ChipEV?

ChipEV for 8-max with ante 0.12bb. It’s a short-stack baseline, not a full ICM model for the bubble or final table. Near the money and at a final table, call and shove ranges usually need to be tighter.

How are mixed-strategy hands graded?

For some hands the solver allows more than one action — for example part all-in and part fold or open. Any action with frequency above 0% counts as correct. The highest-frequency action is treated as the main answer and shown first.

Is the trainer free?

Yes. You can practice in the browser at no cost. An account is only needed if you want progress synced across devices.

Are my statistics saved?

Yes. By default they are saved locally in your browser. After you sign in, stats sync to your account. Push/fold and the cash 100bb trainer are tracked separately.

Where can I see all push/fold ranges?

In the push/fold charts — every position and stack. Then you can come back here and keep practicing.
