Exporting and Importing Configuration in Hand2Note

Hand2Note allows to save (export) configuration to a special configuration file. As well as installing (importing) configuration from a file to Hand2Note.

Configuration includes all statistics packages, HUDs, popups, as well as all settings such as HUD panels positions at the table, and many others.

This function is useful in case of Hand2Note transfer from one device to another, as well as for saving all settings in case of risk of data loss.

Exporting the configuration

In order to export the configuration, find “Configuration” (1) in the top menu of the Hand2Note window and click on it. Next, click on “Export Config…” (2) in the drop-down list. In the window that opens, specify the saving location and name of the Hand2Note configuration file (3), then click on “Save” (4).

The configuration file, once created, must have the file extension “.h2nconfig”.

The Export and Import Configuration function does not include saving and installing the database in Hand2Note. To perform database migration we recommend to read this article: Transferring Hand2Note Database to a New Directory.

Importing the configuration

In order to import configuration, find “Configuration” (1) in the top menu of Hand2Note window and click on it. Next, click on “Import Config…” (2) in the drop-down list. In the opened window find a place to save Hand2Note configuration file (with “.h2nconfig” file extension) and select it (3), then click on “Open” (4).

After importing, allow Hand2Note to restart the program, this will allow all changes to take effect.

If after importing the configuration you have any problem with Hand2Note (for example – fonts in the distribution container have changed or all text in them has moved to the right) – restart your computer, in most situations it fixes everything.

Export and import of notes

The export and import configuration function does not include notes.

To export and import notes, follow the same steps as for exporting and importing configuration. Find “Configuration” (1) in the top menu of the Hand2Note window and click on it. Next, in the drop-down list click on “Export Notes…” (2). In the window that opens, set the saving location and file name of Hand2Note notes (3), then click on “Save” (4).

The notes file, once created, should have the file extension “.h2nnotes”.

In order to import notes, find “Configuration” (5) in the top menu of Hand2Note window and click on it. Next, in the drop-down list click on “Import Notes…” (6). In the opened window, find a place to save Hand2Note notes file (with file extension “.h2nnotes”) and select it (7), then click on “Open” (8).
